A Note on Windows Scrivener Themes
I receive questions about Windows themes every day, so I want to address it in as many places as possible.
I own two Macs (which don’t even support bootcamping Windows anymore), and unfortunately, Scrivener for Windows and Scrivener for Mac are entirely different programs and can’t use the same themes. I created my first four free themes for personal use, and the rest for my Etsy shop.
I bought a cheap Windows laptop purely to create these themes since so many people want them. The theme mechanics are quite different, so it’s slow going to build them. I’ve had a few kind people offer to try to transfer my themes to Windows but I’m afraid it’s something I have to do myself: I update hundreds of settings that don’t translate from one machine to another, so writing out instructions is impossible.
All that to say, when I do finally finish them, I won’t be able to offer them for free because of the large upfront cost of rebuying the software and a whole new computer. I do always offer coupon codes to my mailing list, though, in addition to low prices and bundle discounts.
